About Angel

Hi, I’m Angel. I’m a small town gal happily living the quiet life in Quincy, IL. I’m also a Navy veteran (I was restless when I was younger), having served 13 years enlisted as a Russian translator, mostly in Hawaii but also one short glorious year in England. I have a bachelor’s degree in psychology (sort of) and a master’s degree in counseling, which hardly cover the scope of my science-geekiness, but they will have to do, because I am well-nigh sick of school! I have, during previous sojourns in higher education, majored in electrical engineering and geology. I don’t regret walking away from electrical engineering (I was straight out of high school then and clueless about what I wanted to do), but I really enjoyed studying geology, especially in Hawaii. I love rocks! Unfortunately, my Navy work schedule changed to rotating 12 hour shifts, and I simply could not take any more classes – certainly not upper-level geology classes.
When I got out of the Navy, even though I could have gone anywhere, it didn’t take me long to decide where I wanted to live – my hometown, Quincy, IL. I’ve always loved Quincy, and feel it is a privilege to live here. I love small town life, and I love the Midwest, especially Illinois – both the geography and the culture. I’m looking forward to being a farmer with my husband, when we finally manage to get a place of our own out in the country.
I have a wide variety of interests, including gardening, sustainable farming, psychology, spirituality, history, arts and crafts, nutrition, low-carb lifestyle, and my MINI Cooper S, Lucy. I am a member of and actively involved with Unity Church of Quincy, IL. I am also an Illinois Master Gardener.
My husband, Aaron, is a a farmboy from way back, and a fellow science geek, but currently works as an independent internet consultant (webmaster). He is an active member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, where they are reviving the traditional Latin Mass in the Quincy area. He offers free Latin lessons via his blog.

I am in search of an oweners manual for a Salton GM5 Yogurt Maker. Your thrift market find is like mine I think. It is a GM5W don’t think that means a great deal. I tried to download the pdf file and it would only go so far and then stop. If you have the manual I would appreciate it if you would send me a copy for a fee of course if you have it. Like I said I have tried the pdf with no luck…Please help
